According to Jesus, the universe is not impersonal. Behind it stands a being he called 'the Father,' the source and ground and fountainhead of all existence. The Father is everywhere at once, endlessly creative, unimaginably powerful, everlastingly good. And when it came to ethics Jesus didn't say, "Obey these rules," he said, "Be like your Father." ~~~
